“The $40,000,000 Tax Debacle”

The Board of Directors discussed a request from Washoe County to the District (NLTFPD) to refund to Washoe County an estimated 6.5 million dollars of tax revenue and interest.  This being NLTFPD’s share of what the County must refund to  owners of approximately 8,700 properties due to overcharging on their property taxes.

Director Dale Smith made a motion that the Board authorizes legal council to continue to work with all of the other entities involved to bring this to an amicable resolution.
Motion passed unanimously.

Like the Incline General Improvement District, the NLTFPD Board does not believe they should bare responsibility for the interest.
